JOB TITLE: Superintendent – Specialist Operations LOCATION: Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force Duration: Two Year Contract Remuneration Package SALARY: $51,096.24 ALLOWANCES: $14,640.00 An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a Superintendent to join our senior management team within the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force based with national responsibility for Specialist Operations. The Superintendent – Specialist Operations will provide the strategic leadership and be responsible for the management of the following specialist policing functions within the RT&CIPF; Firearms (operational and training), Air Support Unit, Drone Unit, Dog Unit, Marine Branch, Firearms Licencing and Command. The post holder will have strategic command and line management of the officers and Police Staff working within the Specialist Operations Teams to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of operational policing within the RT&CIPF. The Superintendent – Specialist Operations will provide the leadership required to promote the development of a positive, inclusive and public service focussed culture, and compliance with the RT&CIPF Code of Ethics, policies and working processes to ensure adherence to standards, and the promotion of accountability, personal development and continuous improvement The role will include the following key responsibilities: Lead, manage, develop, coach and motivate staff of the Specialist Operations Teams of the RT&CIPF Specifically, develop and coach the nominated Deputy Head of Specialist Operations in line with an agreed development plan. Contribute to the strategic direction of the Force; improving service delivery and performance; and to the organizational development of the Force. Improve the performance of the Specialist Operations Teams in line with the RT&CIPF Strategic Plan. Provide leadership and direction across the Force in relation to strategy, policy and performance on all specialist operations related matters. Through a visible and engaged leadership style the post holder will promote the development of a positive, inclusive and public service focused culture, and compliance with the RT&CIPF Code of Ethics, policies and working practices to ensure adherence to standards, and the promotion of accountability, personal development and continuous improvement. More broadly, the lead for Specialist Operations will build impressive relationships with national and international stakeholders and law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe Turks and Caicos for those who live, work and visit the Islands. Essential Experience Broad Operational Policing Experience at Assistant Superintendent / Chief Inspector or above (essential) At least two years’ experience in a leadership role within specialist investigations (essential) Experience of leading and managing a Tactical Firearms Unit (operational and training) (essential) Possess an in depth understanding pf the manual of guidance, policies and working practices relating to the management and deployment of armed officers. (essential) Managing police air operations and marine based policing (desirable) An exceptional and inspirational leader with experience of developing and implementing significant organizational change with a focus on providing a high quality service to communities (essential) Proven experience of managing the performance of teams and departments and of coaching and developing staff to achieve their goals alongside their personal development (essential) Qualifications: Strategic Command and Leadership Training. (essential) Accredited Gold Commander (essential) Accredited Silver Commander (essential) For persons recruited from outside of the Turks and Caicos Islands, a two (2) contract is offered. Other benefits, in addition to the stated remuneration include an end-of-contract return passage for family of up to two children under the age of sixteen (16) years as well as duty free concession on the shipment of personal effects imported within six (6) months of appointment. This shipment will be in the form of one 20 ft shipping container funded by the RT&CIPF. In addition, a mid-term return passage for the post holder, spouse or partner and up to two children up to sixteen (16) years will be included.
